As rain falls on São Paulo, a Grindr hookup becomes a threesome, then an orgy. In this magical-realist gay bedroom odyssey, Matias — for whom chemsex has become a cornerstone of post-pandemic life — recounts to his new lovers his past encounters, his HIV status and his future, while speaking with an apparition of G.H., the figure from Clarice Lispector's 1964 novel The Passion According to G.H.
The feature grew out of chempassion (2025), a video commissioned by Visual AIDS, and had its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR 2026, Harbour). It went on to BAFICI (Buenos Aires), Sicilia Queer Filmfest, Olhar de Cinema (Brazilian premiere, Curitiba), Frameline50 (San Francisco) and a Visual AIDS screening at Anthology Film Archives, New York.

“The Passion According to G.H.B. is born from the urgency of confronting the silence around chemsex, proposing an approach that privileges memory, sensation and affection over moral judgement.”
